Where is the battery physically located in my 2001 Buick LeSabre and how do I get access to remove and replace it?

The battery in your car is actually located under the rear seat. Here is how to access this area.

Push in and up on the front of the rear seat cushion.

Lift up and out on the seat cushion.

Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle.

Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

Disconnect the battery positive cable (1) from the battery.

Remove the battery vent tube (1) from the battery.

Remove the battery retainer bolt and battery retainer.

Remove the battery.
