Our fastest car has a 6.2-liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine producing 1200 hp, with a price tag of $950,000. The Venom GT has yet to be tested and proven, but could hit a top speed of 275 mph. Fastest Cars #2: Koenigsegg Agera R, 260 mph (418 km/h), 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you’re into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. Expect this snow car to be the Bugatti’s arch enemy for the next 5 years.This is the second in top 10 fastest cars. 

Fastest Cars #3: Bugatti Veyron EB, 16.4 258mph (415.2 km/h).

  Boasting a maximum speed of more than 400 km per hour, the Veyron is unmatched in the super sports category. It offers a total of 736 kW (1,001 HP), and its ample power reserves even at high speeds are the fabric of dreams for luxury-class limousines: for a constant speed of 250 km/h. The Veyron only needs 270-280 HP. This means that the seven-gear clutch transmission works with a torque of up to 1,250 Newton meters. The Electronic Stability Program ensures the necessary flexibility and maneuverability at any speed. The Veyron reaches velocities that would literally lift the car off the ground. If it were not for its ingenious aerodynamics, which keeps it firmly on the road even at full speed. Adjusting the back spoiler, reducing ground clearance, opening and closing the lids – it all adds to the perfect balance between propulsion and down force. Such a super sports car may not seem to be brought to a halt easily, but the Veyron’s ceramic brakes slow it down faster than it can accelerate. While it takes this exceptional car only 2.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h, it needs even less time – a mere 2.3 seconds – to come to a standstill from 100 (reference point). To cut the risk of injuries in accidents, Bugatti had a Formula 1 safety concept adapted for the Veyron. All these technical details combine to make the Veyron a truly exceptional super sports car. Fastest Cars #4: SSC Ultimate Aero, 257 mph (413 km/h), 0-60 in 2.7 seconds.

Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records, The SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010. On March 2011, the Koenigsegg Agera R also surpassed it, forcing this American made car to the #3 spot. Shelby SuperCars will continue their quest to reclaim the fastest car title, and their new SSC Tuatara Might do the job (we’ll just have to wait).This is the third in top 10 fastest cars.   

Fastest Cars #5: 9ff GT9-R: 257 mph (413 km/h), 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.

The 4.0 Liter flat-6 Twin-Turbo Engine with 1120 hp, comes with a base price is $695,000. Based on the Porsche 911, the 9ff GT9-R 1120 hp version is limited to 20 units and the exterior may be modified to suit the owner. This is the third in top 10 fastest cars.

Fastest Cars #6: Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo, 248 mph (399 km/h), 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass. It will make you want to show it off non-stop. This is the fourth in top 10 fastest cars.

Fastest Cars #7: Koenigsegg CCX, 245 mph (394 km/h), 0-60 in 3.2 secs.

90 Degree V8 Engine 806 hp, base price is $545,568. Made in Sweden, it is the older brother of the Agera R, only losing to 4 other supercars in the world. This is the fifth in top 10 fastest cars.

Fastest Cars #8. McLaren F1: 240 mph (386 km/h), 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 Engine with 627 hp, base price is $970,000. The fastest car in the 20th century with doors that looks like bat wings. Maybe Batman needs to order one and paint it black.

Fastest Cars #9: Zenvo ST1: 233 mph (374 km/h), 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.

Twin-Charged 7.0 liter V8 Engine forging 1,104 hp. Base price: $1,225,000. The first Supercar from Zenvo Automotive, a Danish sports car company in pursuit of speed and perfection. This 100% Danish made supercar is limited to 15 units and the company even promised “flying doctors” to keep your baby functioning.

Fastest Cars #10: Gumpert Apollo: 225 mph (362 km/h), 0-60 in 3.0 seconds.

4.2 liter V8 Engine that houses 650 hp. Base price: $450,000. Gumpert claims that the Apollo was designed such that it could drive upside-down in a tunnel with speeds at 190 mph or above. Of course, no one has tested this yet.

                       THE TOP FIVE FUTURISTIC CAR CONCEPTS, yeah

Justin Bieber was presented with one of these beauties for his 18th birthday on the Ellen DeGeneres show. He followed in the footsteps of Leonardo DiCaprio, who was the first celebrity to buy the first 2012 Fisker Karma. A solar panel roof, 250 mile range, 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds and a sleek exterior to drool over are all wrapped cleverly into this nice work of car art and punctuated with a $90,000 USD starting price sticker. The Fisker Karma is able to go 50 miles on all electric charge and then carries on an additional 300 miles on fossil fuel, while still being able to achieve an admirable 100 miles per gallon. Its trademaked EVer technology uses an electric generator and battery pack to power dual-electric motors without using gas to drive the wheels. The car operates in two modes: stealth mode, with a top speed of 95 mph and a 50 mile range, and sport mode, which uses the top speed up to 125 mph and the range to 250 miles. Definitely an awesome 18th birthday gift.

The 2012 Fisker Karma tops the list of 10 Futuristic  Cars.

2. Nissan Motivity 400C

This vehicle represents how designers at Nissan envision the future of automaking and I must say they see it quite interesting, to say the least. Motivity 400C is a vehicle that boasts a wide range of incredible functional features. It takes advantage of maglev’s engine system that adds more power to the car and every tire allows the driver to control the vehicle with ease. Having a triangular shape the vehicle considerably reduces air resistance when driving at great speeds and increases the car’s acceleration, thus saving a lot of power. A wonderful concept from a great carmaker.

The Nissan Motivity 400c is voted number 2 on top 10 list of  Futuristic Concept  Cars.

3. Bugatti 57 Atlantic

This is an incredible concept that was designed to focus on both the outside of the car and its performance. The design is credited to the French Designer Bruno Delussu. The front of the vehicle reminds us of Jaguar, but the rest is something car enthusiasts never seen before. The two-seater car surely looks very beautiful, but it is less likely to be developed in the near future. The concept looks so futuristic that there are two possible scenarios: whether it will still remain a concept or it will be produced in the next century. The designer gave us a hint- as long as we can imagine, he can create and design whatever he wants.

The Bugatti 57 Atlantic arrives at number 3 on top 10 list Futuristic  Cars.

4. Terrena

This model was designed to be able to pass through different types of terrain found in America. Terrene features a unique tire mechanism that is able to adapt the dimensions of the vehicle to a variety of terrain types, which makes it possible for the user to drive safely in various conditions. The reduced height of the vehicle along with a large wheel diameter improves Terrena’s functionality. The car also boasts integrated sensors that signal the driver about road conditions. In case the sensors identify a good road condition the vehicle’s wheels become wide and Terrena decreases its height to become more stable, allowing you to control it easier at high speed. In addition, this futuristic concept is covered with flexible materials that have an interesting and useful feature – they “absorb” any deformations that occur as a result of impact with different objects.

The Terrena arrives at number 4 on this top 10 list of Futuristic  Cars.

5. BMV i8

February’s extremely cold weather was a blessing in disguise for EV fans, who got a  sneak peak at the i8 concept car test driving in the snow. The BMW i8 bring 349 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque to bear on the road, taking the vehicle from 0-62 mph in just under five seconds seconds and shooting forward at a max of 155 mph. The all-electric driving range is about 20 miles, and the ideal fuel efficiency is around 94 mpg.

Maybe it is time to leave the city as the BMW says and Escape the restrictions of everyday life. The BMW i8 was made to become an icon of progress. It combines the energizing performance of a sports car with benchmark efficiency.

The sporting character continues into the interior. Boasting a driver-focused environment unmatched by any BMW Group vehicle before it, the BMW i8 Concept immerses the driver fully in the unique driving experience. The BMW i8 Concept is the sports car for a new generation – pure, emotional and sustainable.

The design of the BMW i8 Concept is as special as the car’s overall concept embodying the perfect synthesis of technology and aesthetic allure. Its sweeping lines and flat silhouette lend the vehicle a strikingly dynamic appearance even when standing still. A large, transparent greenhouse lends the exterior an extraordinary feeling of lightness and highlights the exceptional efficiency of this vehicle concept. Short front and rear overhangs round off the sporting overall impression. Despite its dynamic appearance, the 2+2-seater can accommodate four people, giving it a high degree of everyday practicality.

As with the BMW i3 Concept, layering again serves as the central design element of the interior and exterior. The individual vehicle components are also clearly visible from the outside, the black and transparent Life module clearly setting itself apart from the silver-coloured body components around it. This layering approach lends the BMW i8 Concept an extremely technical and cutting-edge appeal.

                           Scion 2014 tC Model, The Ultimate touch

With the exception of the FR-S , Scion has long been a brand we pretty much shied away from. Not that there’s anything wrong with it; it’s just not the type of automaker that we follow. However, when Scion began teasing the fact that it was set to unveil an all-new tC at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, our ears perked up just a little bit.

For those that don’t remember, the tC was, at one time, the talk of Scon, as it was the only real “sports” model that the econo-box manufacturer offered. However, when Scion redesigned the model in 2011, it left a whole lot to be desired.

Well, with all of the teasing coming out of the Scion offices about the 2014 tC, we should be ready for something that’ll take our breath away, right?

EXTERIOR

All we can do is sit back and admire the genius that is Scion. They pulled off taking the design elements of the FR-S and slapping them on the tC without making it look too much like its younger, sportier brother. Up front, the tC borrows from the FR-S, the trapezoidal lower grille with an embedded “tC” logo, angular fog light beds on each extremity of the bumper and angular headlights. Now, the tC doesn’t simply hijack these features. It takes them and changes them just enough to make them fit the overall design of the new sports coupe.

Also added to the front end are accent LEDs outlining the far edges of the tC’s much improved front end. The hood also get a mild revision, as it now features a sharp ridge that gives the face just a little more off that “Get outta my way” look.

Down the side of the new tC, it’s not new at all, with the exception of a more pronounced shoulder line. What really disappoints us is that the rear-quarter window remains in the same funky form it did in the last generation. We understand that Scion’s image is a unique one and this strange window is an attempt to retain that, but it looks just about as out of place as a ballet dancer in shoulder pads.

When you come around to the backside, the changes restart, as the boring old bumper has been ripped to shreds and a new, more stylized unit takes its place with a black-out valance just below it – another design cue borrowed from the FR-S. You also get a new set of vertical reflectors on the bumper’s edges and an awesome set of clear LED taillights to add a sportier look to the formerly bland rump.

Setting off the entire car is a set of new wheels sized 18 inches and coated in a dark grey.

You can order the tC in seven different colors, which includes two all-new hues: Absolutely Red and Blue Streak Metallic.

INTERIOR

When it comes to the interior of the new tC, you need to keep in mind that this still considered a value-oriented car. On the inside, you will first notice that the Scion tC now includes plusher material, so it doesn’t carry that cheap feeling that so many economy cars have. We’re not too sure exactly what Scion upgraded in the materials department, but from what we’re looking at, the interior looks pretty darn similar to the 2013 model.

Where the 2014 model really distinguishes itself is in standard equipment, which includes a standard Display Audio with a 6.1-inch LCD touchscreen and a new audio system that features Bluetooth connectivity, HD Radio and steering-wheel-mounted controls.

The tC does offer an optional audio upgrade to a Scion BeSpoke Premium Audio System, which features Aha. This allows you to access 30,000 free radio stations and Scion’s signature stations – 17 in total –all through your smartphone.

DRIVETRAIN

We were expecting this, but Scion still disappoints us by carrying over the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine from the second generation. This engine is relatively powerful with 179 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, but there is definitely room to grow this engine a little. Heck, even a turbocharged model shouldn’t be out of the question. Sure, that may put it over the FR-S’ 200 horsepower, but tC buyers and FR-S buyers are two completely different animals.

As standard, the four-cylinder engine hooks up to a six-speed manual transmission, but you can opt for an updated six-speed automatic transmission. This new auto unit features Dynamic Rev Management technology, just like the FR-S, which blips the throttle to match the engine and transmission rpms on downshifts. This leads to less wear and tear on the drivetrain and a far sportier driving experience.

Because this drivetrain is essentially a carryover from 2013, we expect much of the same performance. The manual-transmission-equipped tC will hit 60 mph in a zippy 7.3 seconds – same as last year – but the automatic will likely see a small drop in acceleration time to about 7.7 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than last year. These numbers are our best estimates, as Scion has not officially released its track times.

We’re still holding out for the turbo tC and we bet it will come at some point within its lifespan.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES

Though the engine was left untouched from 2012, the suspension did not suffer the same fate. Scion retooled the handling characteristics of the tC via additional spot welds to make the body a little more rigid, modified stabilizer bar hardware and optimized shocks. Adding to its responsiveness is a retuned electronic power steering system that gives you a more traditional feel with lightning fast response times.

The brakes are still a relative unknown, but we will assume that t has your basic four-wheel disc setup.

PRICING

The all-new 2014 Scion tC will start at $19,210 for the base model with a six-speed manual transmission and the base automatic model will start at $20,210.

COMPETITION

2014 Hyundai Veloster

We’re not expecting anything new from the Veloster in 2014, so we will likely just see a carryover model. This means the Veloster will come standard with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that huffs and puffs its way to 138 horsepower. This gets the Veloster to 60 mph in a sloth-like 9.5 seconds.

The Veloster Turbo is a worthy adversary, thanks to its 201-horsepower powerplant that drops its 0-to-60 mph time to only 7.7 seconds. Still slower than the Scion, sure, but it is still worth a look.

2014 Kia Forte Koup SX

Who would have ever though that Kia would come this far in its lifespan? The2014 Forte is not only redesigned, but it now includes a 201-horsepower 2.0-liter GDI powerplant that also cranks out 195 pounds of twist. It is actually sharing the showroom floor in New York with the new Scion as we speak but we are a little uncertain about its legitimacy as a competitor. See, in 2013, the Forte SX included a 2.4-liter engine with “only” 173 horsepower, which kept it to an affordable $18,800. Now with this turbocharged plant, the Koup SX may be priced out of the contest.

If it is still within the Scion’s price range, the tC had better watch out because this bad boy will smoke it and look better in the process.

10 SERIES TC

The 10 Series line is a celebratory one in commemoration of the Scion brand’s 10th anniversary of its existence. Every 2014 model will feature a 10 Series model, the tC included. On the 10 Series tC, you will see an exclusive Silver Ignition paintjob, an illuminated “Scion ” badge when you enter the car that fades to reveal a “10” after you close the door, silver seat belts, a solar-powered illuminated gear-shift knob, and an LED Scion indicator that lights up when you unlock the doors.

Only 10,000 10 Series models will be produced, but the number allotted to the tC was not released. The 10 Series will hit showrooms in June 2013. The 10 Series tC will start at $21,440 for a manual transmission model and the automatic model will start at $22,440.

CONCLUSION

We love what Scion did with the front and rear of the tC, but the side really needed more work. We’re also missing any upgraded engine; thought the base engine is relatively powerful. We can only hope that there will be an option to upgrade the engine at some point in the future. At the very least, you always have Scion’s customization program to upgrade your tC.

Overall, we think the tC is a good buy, but you definitely want to consider the new Forte Koup SX.
